Hi Adhiyana,

First of all, welcome to Spotfire.
To answer your question, yes using your username/password works for both the Analyst client (desktop) and Web client (browser).

You normally have one user account in Spotfire that can be used to logon to the Analyst client and Web client. Your account has been granted specific licenses to work within Spotfire (as the whole environment) and depending on that, you will be able to see/do more in both Analyst client and Web client.
Most of the time, analysts within Spotfire are the ones who create analysis files for (other) end users. They therefore have more (extended) licenses than normal end users (and typically use the Analyst client). End users are mostly working with Spotfire though the Web client interface.

Kind regards,

David

Hi David,

another question. the information i get so far, the number of spotfire license is equal to (analyst, consumer and also business author). is there any reason why do we need another spotfire server license if we already have spotfire analyst license or consumer? cuz lets say i have 5 spotfire analyst licenses and 5 consumer license, is that would be enoug to using spotfire server?

thanks
