Data import error - Emmanuel Katto Uganda

Hello everyone,

My name is Emmanuel Katto. I am new to spotfire and I keep encountering the error message 'Data table could not be loaded' when trying to import data. Has anyone else faced this issue, and how did you resolve it?

Welcome!
Could you tell a bit more about the error message? When does this happen exactly? You say it happens when importing data, does this mean that you already have a .dxp file open and want to add data to it? If so, can you tell what you do when adding data and what data source is being used? Also, do you connect directly to a data source or do you use Information Designer?

If this happens when you open a .dxp file, do all data tables have this problem?

And finally, can you share the complete error message? If the error message is not clear enough, you may want to set your logging level to DEBUG mode in the Spotfire Analyst. You do this by going into Help menu and select Support diagnostics and logging:

Once in that window, go to the Logging tab and set the log level to DEBUG:

You probably need to restart your Spotfire Analyst to take into account this new setting. Please open the location first (click on Open Folder) so you don't have to search for this log file.
When you reproduce the error while importing data, this log file should give you more information why it failed. And if you could share those details here, it would be easier to track down the root cause of your issue.
