Trey Hodgson
Does Spotfire support coalesce() inside of custom expressions?
Fredrik Rosell
Hello Trey,Yes, that is supported (for specific data sources). I assume you are working with in-database or streaming data? If so, what is the data source? You can find a list of the supported functions for each connector in the manual. As stated in those pages: "This topic lists information about what functions you can use in Spotfire, for example for writing custom expressions and adding calculated columns, when you work with in-database data tables from [...]."Checking in the latest 12.2 version, coalesce is supported for Snowflake, Dremio, Apache Drill, and TIBCO Spotfire Data Streams.Example for Snowflake:https://docs.tibco.com/pub/sfire-analyst/12.2.0/doc/html/en-US/TIB_sfire-analyst_UsersGuide/index.htm#t=connectors%2Fsnowflake%2Fsnowflake_supported_functions.htm
Trey Hodgson
My question is related to data imported (stored) in a Spotfire project, not related to external data sets.Specifically, when using a Cross Table visual, I would like to apply a coalesce() within a Custom Expression on the Cell Value axis. Gaia Paolini
would the SN() function do what you wanted? This is what the help says:Substitutes null values in Arg1 with Arg2.Examples:SN(1,2)SN([Column], 3)SN([Column1],[Column2])
